He kanaka ʻōiwi haʻaheo wau! I am a proud native Hawaiian! The culture, language, and lands of my people have been stripped and banned and it continues to this day. It is being consumed and commodified in a way that it has been keeping us separated since the overthrow of our kingdom. We are a colonized people. But we are taking actions to push back against out illegal imperialist colonizers and occupiers, "The United States of America".

In this song, the lyrics speak directly about the actions that we have been taking to reclaim our language heritage and lands.

From the telescopes on our most precious and sacred mountain, Mauna a Wākea, to the poisoning of our water done by the U.S. military at Kapūkaki (Red Hill), and reclaiming the valley of Mākua in Waiʻanae, Oʻahu being used by the U.S. military to train troops for war and illegal coup de'tats are all important movements that native Hawaiians are taking to ensure and safeguard the perpetuation of the future generations.

Kapu Aloha! Aloha 'āina! Sacred love! The deepest love for all the lands.
